| Many
CGH properties are in themselves repositories of history, abounding in artifacts
and antiquities. Destinations such as Coconut
Lagoon, Brunton
Boatyard and Kalari
Kovilakom are living experiences of craftsmanship, each bringing
alive a different aspect of Kerala culture. Of
late, we've begun to explore another, newer side of our culture. Through art
residencies and art camps, we empower contemporary artists and craftsmen from
Kerala, as also elsewhere in India and abroad, to find new expressions and new
audiences. In
recent times, we've played host to a number of such camps. From thematic gatherings
(like one focussing solely on women artists) to month-long explorations of ideas
in nature and local culture. And in the process, the mountain spirit of Spice
Village and the golden light of Marari beach have served to impel and inspire
a whole range of works, from abstracts, to nature based representational art.
From the conservatively traditional .to the wildly post-modern. A few glimpses
from our camps are on this page, and you can see the resulting paintings at www.cghearthgallery.com If
you'd like to participate in our camps, please mail
us, with some examples of your work. |
