Delve into
a rich history

Résidence de l’Evêché is a historic landmark in the heart of Pondicherry. Situated in the French Quarter, it takes you back in time to the colonial era when the Archbishop’s house was located on the street, earning the name, Rue de l’Evêché. The villa has existed since the 1790s and has been home to several owners, one of them being the prominent Goubert family, after whom the popular Goubert Market is named.

Stay in a
different era

The bedrooms have been restored to exude a calming ambience to help you unwind whenever you feel like. Two bedrooms have private balconies that open to the quaint streets while one room has access to a private terrace.

The best of
two worlds

Our Chef-on-Call is the highlight of our dining experience. Sit back and relish carefully curated meals inspired by Franco-Tamizh cuisine.

To add spice to your stay, dine in a different spot each day – lounge at the breakfast table; devour some of the best delicacies in the formal dining room; or have dinner with a rooftop dining experience on the terrace.

The Pondy Charm

When you step out for a leisure walk, you will find the streets are lined with pastel homes that charm you as you take a short walk down to the Promenade Beach. Or indulge in Pondicherry’s bygone era - Old Lighthouse, Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville and the Sacred Heart Basilica among others – all a stone’s throw away.
